Virtual options at Mallard Creek Rec. Center!

We received great news from Stephanie Frisbee, the manager at the Mallard Creek Rec Center. Although the facilities are not open for indoor use yet, the Rec Center has arranged a number of virtual sessions, and a Trick-O-Treat drive-through event on October 30.

Some of the programs require preregistration. To register for Park and Recreation Programs:

Little Readers - Bilingual Story Time – Friday, October 30th from 10:00-11:00. Mallard Creek Little Readers - not your average story time! Preschoolers will jump (saltar) into a fun book that is read in English and Spanish by Ms. Maria. After the book children will get crafty and make a theme related craft. - This class will have a Halloween Theme. 

· This is a virtual program.

· Pre-registration required through Park and Rec.

Spooktacular Car Trick -o- Treat – Friday, October 30th from 11:30-12:30. Calling all little ghouls and goblins. Grab your costume and your parent and have them bring you to the Mallard Creek Spooktacular Car Trick-o-Treat. Drive through the circle in front of the recreation center, you don't even have to get out of the car! You will be met by staff in costume and receive a Halloween treat bag full of goodies! 

· Pre-registration required through Park and Rec.

Children’s Theatre of Charlotte Partnership Program – This is the wonderful program that we partnered with the Children’s Theatre for before. This is made possible by an ASC Culture Blocks Grant. We are resuming this program but virtually at this point due to COVID. Calling all Kids! Learn life skills through theatre skills. This online program via zoom will allow students to explore the artist within by utilizing theatre and art activities. Students participate in a variety of activities including: ensemble/team building, theatre games, fun songs & sing a longs, group storytelling, craft and prop creation, public speaking exercises.

· Recommended for ages 2-5.

· Dates for the program are October 9,16,23,30, November 6,13,20, December 4,11, January 8,15,22,29, February 5,12,19,26, March 5,19,26. Times are 10:00 for families and 11:00 for preschools.

· You do not have to pre-register to participate in this program.

Ignite Fall Dance Fest – This program is made possible by an ASC Culture Blocks Grant and the dance company Order My Steps. These are free zoom classes offered on Wednesdays from 6:00-7:00 pm.
